"SONANTES" Female Choir of the Poznan University of Economics was founded in 1971. It consists mainly of students and graduates of the University of Economics. Participating in the musical life of the city, it takes part in music reviews, festivals and competitions. The Choir gives concerts at home and abroad. It also invites foreign choirs whose concerts enrich the musical culture of Poland.
The Choir has a diversified repertoire characteristic of this kind of ensemble: mediaeval monody,
folk songs, church music and vernacular choral forms of different periods. Students of Musical Education
Faculty from the Academy of Music in Poznan traditionally have their conducting traineeships with the Choir.
